I worry for the sanity of Dr Adams. What normal person would intentionally surround himself by students and faculty who hate his guts. And then take it one steps further by constantly poking them in the eye. He sounds like a drama queen in the extreme. I wonder if he has arrange his personal life to be as conflict-laden as his professional life. I would issue a challenge to Dr. Adams. Go to a variety of conservative websites and pose as a liberal. Advocate boiler-plate liberal positions on the site. See if anyone exhibits the 6 points you have described above. Do you experience any hatred, any name calling, extreme rudeness? This may open your eyes. This behavior is not liberal or conservative, it is just human.

Ah, but there's a huge problem with your position. The student in this case acknowledged Dr. Adams' competency and skills in teaching the course material. *That* is Dr. Adams' job, and it appears, even according to this student, that he does it well. Nothing else should matter. On a liberal blog - or any blog - all we can know are your political/philosophical positions, and, truly, "boiler plate liberal positions" tend to the irrational and the emotional (as well as the hateful and violent, often; and no, I do not say conservatives are never that way). On the blogs, there's no way to say "but he does his job well." Utterly different circumstances.

I Hate Mike Adams

I love being hated. And if you don’t think I’m hated then you haven’t read my most recent rating on www.RateMyProfessor.com. For those too lazy to click the link (that means liberals), I’ve reprinted the latest rating below:

“I hate this guy on a personal level. He is a hyper-conservative homophobic a**hole. I disagree with his beliefs in every way and have never in my life had a professor or teacher I disliked more. I have to admit he's a good professor as far as covering course material in a clear manner, but his class policy is also very strict.”
