Why Legalizing SSM Threatens Religious Liberty and Freedom of Conscience

Just like most people in the world, I have both gay friends and gay relatives. I'm straight. I don't judge them based upon their sex lives, but rather upon whether or not they are good people with whom I enjoy spending time. I don't expect them to lecture me on SSM. As far as I'm concerned, civil union between members of the same sex is fine. It doesn't affect me one way or the other, and it does benefit in legal ways two people who love each other. That should be the end of the issue. However, when I read about laws like Colorado's that don't exempt churches, then I do care. As far as I can tell, the desire of this odious administration is to destroy religion, traditional cultural morals, the wealthy (as long as they're Republican)

Don't argue tolerance, carole, because of your own example. If you think it matters how you "don't judge them," be more honest. You aren't tolerant. You're indifferent to good and evil. What is intrinsically evil can't be love. It mustn't be given a place in society equal to genuine marriage. You may be a fine person but that doesn't make sodomy a fine expression of love.

Nevertheless, a real Christian believes in God's pardon and mercy; even for a homosexual who faces the whole truth. We pray for His forgiveness in their final hour.

Essentialy what she is saying is that she's too weak to tell her friends that what they're doing is wrong, and that, right there, is what is wrong with America.

and anything else that has benefited this country's growth over the centuries, and then turn us into a European socialist nation in which anything goes. I truly am glad that I'm getting older and probably won't be around when the USA that I love is completely destroyed. Both good and evil have always existed, but never before have I felt evil so intrusive in my daily life. Think about it! Every facet of our lives has been touched by something that is corrupt in some way. Another simple example is morning after pills for little girls? I always believed that I could live my life, earn my own living, follow the rules, be charitable and caring of others, and have a decent life. Now I see the 7 deadly sins intruding into that life by...

What happens to people of faith who support traditional marriage after the legal definition of marriage is redefined as anything other than a union between one man and one woman? Simple: Their views, I assure you, will be deemed “intolerable” -- and the state will feel compelled to act. Indeed, we’re already seeing this line of persecution happening in Europe (via the Catholic News Agency):

The Danish government recently determined that “gay marriage” includes a right to get married in any church in the country, even if that church objects to such unions. Churches throughout the country will...
