Sean Hannity had a terrific program on the other night, Monday, I think, with a black live audience of successful individuals, including Dr. Carson. The primary thing I came away with from watching and listening is that the true information about history and current events is not getting out to the black communities. This is the fault of the Republicans, black and white, because all the info here from Elder should be publicized everywhere and often and people need to go neighborhoods and talk with people honestly and listen to them. The other thing I took away from this show is the fact that black dems on black conservative racism is alive and flourishing, and I admire the courage of these individuals in speaking out as they did.
Obviously, CT and the federal government have NO common sense and no understanding that, unfortunately, there will be another incident. It may be in CT or in some other state, but there are enough sick people and criminals who don't care about these "feel-good" laws that do nothing but give the idiots who represent us the chance to pat themselves on the back. I'm thoroughly disgusted with gov't at EVERY level.
I live in CT where the governor, dem-dominated government, and some weak-minded rinos have been patting themselves on the back since Malloy signed the new gun law. Last night I watched part of a discussion on local news about how this law came about. Basically, some dem "lawmakers" put together what they wanted to include and showed their list to the repubs who had their own list. Very few common sense arguments followed; the dems prevailed as they always do in CT; a few repubs caved in, and now we have what they call a bipartisan new law which would have done NOTHING to save those poor children and teachers in Newtown. Anyone with common sense knows that 1) there are sick people in this world, and 2) criminals don't care about laws.
and anything else that has benefited this country's growth over the centuries, and then turn us into a European socialist nation in which anything goes. I truly am glad that I'm getting older and probably won't be around when the USA that I love is completely destroyed. Both good and evil have always existed, but never before have I felt evil so intrusive in my daily life. Think about it! Every facet of our lives has been touched by something that is corrupt in some way. Another simple example is morning after pills for little girls? I always believed that I could live my life, earn my own living, follow the rules, be charitable and caring of others, and have a decent life. Now I see the 7 deadly sins intruding into that life by...
Just like most people in the world, I have both gay friends and gay relatives. I'm straight. I don't judge them based upon their sex lives, but rather upon whether or not they are good people with whom I enjoy spending time. I don't expect them to lecture me on SSM. As far as I'm concerned, civil union between members of the same sex is fine. It doesn't affect me one way or the other, and it does benefit in legal ways two people who love each other. That should be the end of the issue. However, when I read about laws like Colorado's that don't exempt churches, then I do care. As far as I can tell, the desire of this odious administration is to destroy religion, traditional cultural morals, the wealthy (as long as they're Republican)
This is simply disgusting. I can only imagine what would have happened if the behavior/situation being demonstrated had to do with Muslims. However, since it is a Christian situation, the idiot of a teacher is praised, and there aren't even any comments here. Common Core will destroy what little there is left of real education in this country. The administration's goal is to make us all dumb, dependent on government, and if those things don't work, use ObamaCare to kill off those of us who remember what the US used to be and the principles on which it was founded.
Now you can all see what kind of idiot we have for senator. The other idiot is Chris Murphy. Both are liberal fools who leave the conservatives in CT with nowhere to turn for any common sense. Jim Himes is my representative in the House and he's another fool. CT is in debt, has high unemployment; people are moving out, and the majority seems to think voting for and electing Dems is the answer. I wish I were able to move, but can't happen now.

Didn't you see Swift on one of those award shows where her bodice was open to the waist? If she's supposed to be a model for young girls, no wonder they are tormenting their parents to buy them clothes appropriate for sluts.
As a former teacher, I agree with what you've said. I watched the deterioration of the profession over 39 years. There are too many who want to be "friends" with their students, especially at the high school level. And as someone here has already said, too many who are out the door as soon as the bell rings. Ken6565 is right, too, in saying that a professional teacher's priority is the kids. That's why I entered the profession, and that is the reward of the profession, seeing the lightbulbs go off when a lesson is learned. Of course, earning a decent wage is important, but way too many have that "entitlement" mentality that seems to permeate society today. Get the unions out of teaching!
2 -orgs got together and determined that non-members had to pay 2/3 of the total membership costs, and there was no choice in the matter. Of course the reasoning was that negotiations now took at least a year, and non-members benefited with the new contract, so must also pay for these negotiations. I feel vindicated in my decision when I see the idiot behavior of those who are currently members throughout this country. How can they dare call themselves "professional" and act so disgustingly. I'm embarrassed to say I was a teacher.
1 -When I first began teaching in the early 70's, teacher unions were just beginning nationally, but there was a local representative group. When contracts came up for negotiations, a few teachers and a few BOE members got together and discussed the needs of both sides, and usually within a month or so, a new contract was forged and usually passed. Once the state and national organizations were formed, these negotiations began to include lawyers for both sides and the dues for membership were tripled. I actually served as an officer of the local for a year, and during that time I realized what a waste of money membership was. So I decided not to belong. My state is NOT a right to work state; therefore, the local, state, and national
