Not Another Dime

I didn't see Susan Komen on that list but maybe I missed it. I won't give them another cent either. Why? Wishy washy pandering from them is the reason. "$$$$" was uttered against an ultra liberal woman with no credentials testifying before Congress. Oh the outrage!!!! I've heard worse than that (alot) just walking down the street and that's not mentioning Comedy Central or any other vile program shown regularly on TV. I'm wondering when my turn will come. I'm a woman too and I know a thing or two about birth control also. It's all so sickening and I'm not spending another dime with any on the list. They don't deserve my money and the American people don't deserve their cowardly faux concern.

A Nation Arms Itself -- For What?

Strict gun control has done such a great job in Mexico... Mass murders, kidnappings, beheadings, gun battles on the border - wow. Do we really want gun control in America too?

A Post-Racial Lynch Mob

This new "white hispanic" label opens all sorts of new catagories of Americans. Think about it - Obama is not our first black president. He's only a white black man.

Dump Starbucks

CAROL2488 Wrote: Mar 23, 2012 8:16 AM
But Starbucks is the cool place to go and pay $5 or $6 for a cup of coffee. Just patronizing Starbucks shows the world you are hip. Generation X or "Alternatives" put them on the map and the company eminate from the west coast liberals. I don't go because I'm not hip; won't pay $6 for a CUP of coffee; and think their coffee is bitter, too strong, and awful. I make a great smooth cup of coffee in my own humble kitchen and several pots for $6.

Putting the Bull in 'Bully'

CAROL2488 Wrote: Mar 23, 2012 7:48 AM
There isn't a kid alive that doesn't know bullying occurs. Maybe this producer thinks by seeing his movie, the bullies will stop bullying. What he's not considering is the suicide angle and what it might trigger in victims of it. Maybe suicide? I wouldn't let my teen go see this movie. That's not mentioning the homosexual side of it. Too much for young minds to be exposed to and the "f" word is not even figured into this equation. The producer knew exactly what he was doing by making this movie - and including the "f" word.
I have paid Social Security since I was 19 years old (or 46 years) and to date, have not drawn one red cent from it or from Medicare so how can it be considered an "entitlement"? I recently went on Medicare, pay my premiums, sending a check ito Medicare because I am not retired, and still have not drawn one red cent from it - there is a deductable you know.. Yes, people are living longer and increasing retirement age makes sense but stop calling it an entitlement and lumping Medicare in with Medicaid. Those of us who have worked for 45 years paying and paying are not mooches on this government! Those who fund are not 'entitled' people when it comes time for government to live up to their end of the bargain.

Three Cheers for Romneycare!

CAROL2488 Wrote: Feb 02, 2012 6:59 AM
The northeast doesn't have a clue. Try Romneycare down here in Texas where half the population isn't legal and pays NO taxes to our schools or local/state government. We have some of the highest property tax rates in the country because our schools are predominately supported locally and the state pays a small portion yet our schools are loaded with the children of illegals. Yes, our hospital emergency rooms are used as clinics but at least our doctor's offices are not run over with people who cannot pay. Romney/Obama Care will bankrupt the entire U S. The answer is not insurance because there is no way to collect a premium from illegal workers or those on welfare.
No one mentions a huge problem and that is with plastic disposable diapers. Whatever happened to cloth diapers and rubber pants like I put on my children? An average of 40+ diapers a week (over 2000 a year) are used for ONE child and they sit in landfills forever. Yes, its messy and Mom, Dad, or Nanny might get their hands dirty but they're very enviromentally friendly! We could go back to returnable and refundable glass bottles like we used in America for a hundred years. No litter problems because kids, the poor, etc walk the roadsides collecting them for refunds. So many sane things could be done if anyone was really serious but they're not. Instead they go after plastic bags. Stupid people with stupid ideas!

Hollywood's Soda-Pop Statism

CAROL2488 Wrote: Dec 03, 2011 9:48 AM
It started by banning cigarette smoking (for health) and it has slowly seeped into everything we do - control by government. They're into salt, sugar anything, fried foods, red meat, chocolate milk, shortening, and toilet paper and paper towels. Do gooders without a lick a sense. Example: Crow and friends wanted folks to use ONE square of toilet paper while there are millions of mounds of disposable diapers sitting in land fills that will not desinigrate for decades? Ever heard of cloth diapers and rubber pants, Cheryl? CocaCola, peanut butter, french fries, and all the other foods we all like to eat will not harm anyone if they get up off the couch and move. So my hooey from Hollywood, yet again.

Calling Things by Their Proper Names

CAROL2488 Wrote: Nov 27, 2011 7:56 AM
Of course you are right on all points, but what can Americans do? Scream and march in the streets? Creeps are doing that right now. Daily we are greeted with some new leftist thing from this President. I know the Middle East will be controlled by Iran but frankly, I'm sick of seeing our young men and women killed for nothing. In a REAL war, we go in to win and kill all those who are the enemy. We clean them out of the country we occupy and then set up on the border and kill those trying to come into the country. Does anyone wonder how we turned Germany and Japan around after WWII? We weren;'t worried about world opinion. We wanted to win and we did.
