The White House must have walls and a moat around it - - didn't follow the election, didn't know there were tea parties. I do believe he watched the HBO special about himself. Because he is all about himself not the mood of the country.

Tyler said: Scott Brown tried to deny emergency contraception to rape victims. When he was called on it, he tried to deny the truth, then hid behind his daughters.
Scott Brown introduced an amendant allowing people who did not believe in administrating the emergency contraception to rape victims the ability to refuse. If no one was in the hospital was available, then the victim would be transported to another hospital at no cost. The amendment was voted down and Scott Brown voted for the final bill.

Kill the Bills. Do Health Reform Right

I think the young should get breaks on health insurance because they are not in the high risk catagory. When my son became 16 and got his license, the liability insurance on a 10 year old very small car was $1500 per year. Liability on my car is $200 a year. He's now 18 and the rate hasn't gone down much. So, now in addition to paying high car insurance rates, we're expecting them to pay higher premiums for health insurance. I also agree with Tort reform. The only people I see benefiting from this administration are trial lawyers and bankers

ROMANS 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Great statement. Reminds me of the politicians in Washington, MSNBC hosts, Katie Couric, and Hollywood liberals.

You just proved Ann's point. You hate her, you think she's stupid but you had a party to celebrate her resignation. You can't stop talking about her. How lame is that? Obviously you do not have much going on in your life, if you need this as an excuse for a party.

Warning Labels on Baseball Bats?

Carol2158 Wrote: Nov 16, 2009 8:40 AM
My son has been playing baseball since he was 8. He's now 18 and a pitcher. Our family has known that aluminum bats are more dangerous than wooden bats for a long time. It is however, safer on a baseball diamond than driving a car. All parents of kids who play baseball know that woodent bats are safer. Baseball is a sport you don't begin playing at 18 (especially as a pitcher), so this boy had been playing a while. If his parents didn't know the danger, they had been ignoring their child for a long time.
The medicaid provision in the Health bill states that each state must now expand medicaid services to provide coverage for any individuals that make 150% (I believe this is the figure) of the poverty level. Some states already do this. Other states (including Nebraska) only offer medicaid at the poverty level or below the poverty level. Of course to win the Senator's vote from Nebraska - this state will not pick up any additional expenses for their increased medicaid program. The other 49 states have that honor. In Florida, Medicare Advantage will not be eliminated. It will be eliminated in other states as a way to save money and fund the healthcare bill. And again the other 49 states will pay for it. So, I guess the whole shared...
Oh, so the only people who are overweight and don't exercise should pay higher premiums. What about homosexuals who still are at higher risk for getting HIV and AIDS, no matter how much they exercise and eat right - - shouldn't they pay more too? What about people who live in crime areas - aren't they at a greater risk because of violence? How about people who abuse drugs and alcohol - shouldn't they pay more as well? No, let's pick on fat people because that's OK. As for shared risk, if you don't pay into the Social Security pool for a certain number of quarters, you are not eligible - you can get a reduced SSI but not SSR or SSD. Your benefit is also controlled by your earnings, the more you have earned, the more you get. As for...
You're missing the point. You saying we all pay a little car insurance (implying all is equal)to stave off catastrophe. But that's not the case. Your car insurance premiums are based on your age, sex, type of car, type of coverage, your accident and driving history. What you are saying is that you as a driver don't mind paying the same premiums as someone who drives a more expensive car with numerous accidents, and tickets and gold-plated coverage. Is that really what you want? That's what the new health plan will do. We will all have the same coverage with higher premiums because we're now paying for others who are high risk. The people who will get hit the hardest - young people. They are the healthiest and will pay the same...

To Jeffrey
With today's economy, employers are dumping benefits all over the place. My husband's employer quit their 401K contributions, increased the Employee's portion of the health insurance, and didn't give raises for the last 2 years. And other employers are doing it as well. So, yes, they will pay the fine and dump health insurance. As for your car insurance analogy, young male drivers pay triple or quadruple the rates of older drivers. So if you agree with that analogy, health insurance premiums should not be equal but based on the state of your health. Young healthy people would pay less, older people would pay more. But that is not what the bill says, is it? So you comment is flawed in every way.
