That means that the NYTs is actually saying that more people are supporting Obama than republicans BUT THEY DO NOT GIVE ANY STATS. Where is the question for this assumption? What are the numbers? Did I miss it or is this a twisting of facts?

I agree about ending the school monopoly. Let parents take their alloted tax dollars to a free market school system. I sent my children to private schools K-12 and paid but never regretted spending that money.

I laugh when someone plays the race card. Attributing someone's failure to the color of skin that is the result of genetics is racist. Attributing someone's failure to the behaviors learned by being insulated in a non-assimilating subculture is not racist. These are learned behaviors and not genetic and therefore not racist.

Part of the high cost of education is illegals. Teachers keep the illegals hidden in the classrooms so that their enrollments are larger. Also, non-english speakers are given extra federal funds for ESL. When those run out, the teachers look for a "learning disability"tag so they can get more funds. It's time to say the to the teachers. The illegals ate your retirement money but you fed it to them.

I agree with Ken Olsen's comments. I know a teacher who was coming in early (in a low income district ) to work with her h.s. students who were taking an AP exam. She was drilling these students in preparation for a national exam that MIGHT help them get scholarhship money for college! The Union warned her about work hours. She explained what she was doing and why. Someone slashed her tires.

the dems did that in my districts in the last campaign. They ran an "independent" against the republican and the democrat. The campaign workers for the "idenpendent" came from the Swarthmore college Democrat club and the candidate was the former democrat leader of Swarthmore. Independent my butt. LOL
