True, but I take away a different point from the article, and that is the point that there is a disgusting double standard. A conservative would and will NEVER be allowed to live down past folly, mistakes or even bad deeds. A liberal will be excused and even lauded for "evolving." I find this practice despicable, especially since it's so blatant. The MSM is actually IN YOUR FACE with it - no shame whatsoever. That's what I take away from Mr. Bozell's piece.
Oh, you mean like Mr. Clinton?
I don't listen to any popular music and haven't for decades but I can say that I DID walk out of a classical concert in Los Angeles after the pianist actually started spewing politics from the keyboard. We weren't alone but there weren't many who went with us. This "artist" chose to mock us as we left the hall. It was stunning.

Wrong on the ravages of heterosexual equal-opportunity AIDS. Wrong on alar in apples. Wrong on silicone breast implants. Wrong on bilingual education. Just plain wrong. Without consequence, without remorse. Shameless.

Being on the Left means never having to say you're sorry. (credit Dennis Prager)
"I mean Bette Midler, Maher, and Larry O'Donnell? Really? The author can't actually be concerned about what any of these fools think (and I use the term lightly), can he?" What makes them dangerous is that the MTV crowd follows what they say. And that's a big crowd. And many of them were goaded into voting, many, early and often. It's so much easier to grasp the bumper sticker offered by a Midler than to read Thomas Sowell or John Hawkins and understand the issues. Note that while all of this is now becoming apparent even in the main stream media (gasp!), the president's approval rating remains at 50%! Sheep look for the easiest master to follow. Delightful Midler sounds delightful (oooh! she's so funny! tee hee!!) and elitist ever-so-smart Maher gives them the intellectual back-up they need to parrot said bumper stickers. No, they don't carry weight in serious conversation, but, as seen in the last election, the Popular Culture Masses aren't about to engage in serious conversation. They just want to know which button to punch.
"6) "THANK YOU FOR DENYING 501C-4 to any group who hates!" Anyone who disgrees with Ms Midler's socioploitical worldview is a "hater" - typical lib/prog trick to demonize the opponent." Dare I say, she might be a ...gulp...HATER? Say it isn't so.
Excellent, Thomas. Excellent and oh so true.
