Words That Replace Thought

Charles 3662 wrote "Why not go back to the people using those words and forget about the words..." Sowell is the great debater of ideas, regardless of who said it...which is what makes him one of the greatest thinkers of our time...by suggesting he stoop to pointing fingers and criticizing the person reveals the shallowness of your thinking...

Two more ideas for your platform Mike - My friend's overnight hospital stay cost $18,000 this week (just for the hospital charge). It's time to eliminate third party payers of health care. If each person pays for their own health care themselves, then they will watch what they pay. For those needing asssitance, I say give them a resonable voucher and let them keep whatever they don't spend. all of sudden their need for doctor visits will drop and their questioning of egregious charges will rise. Also, institute a "loser pays" system so lawyers will be less likely to file frivilous law suits.

Liberals don't understand incentives...as Sowell explained last week, the Pilgrims almost died under a socialist society, but rebounded after two years when Governor Bradford switched to a captitalist society...all of a sudden, people worked their land harder and longer, and produced more....thus their was abundance and enough leftovers to initiate trading...

Liberals don't want to raise tax rates to generate more revenue...they want to raise tax rates to punish the rich...to them, the latter is more important than the former...

Can Republicans Talk?

Republicans are also bad at using the polls...therefore my freinds and I typically lie to the polls - rendering the poll results less accurate, and therefore less effective for Democrats to use. Why do you think the polls and the actual results have been so far apart in recent elections - keep up the good work!

Liberals have suceeded in implementing their agenda slowly and methodically over decades...so it is difficult to notice the trickle of liberlism as it spreads, but conservatives don't understandor embrace this concept. It seems that Mike would be happy to first tackle the prevention of the 99.9% of abortions that are not linked to rape, before lobbying against the .01% that are. His posture outlined in this article makes it more difficult to make any progress. Perhaps Mike/we should learn a little from the liberals and approach our goals with a little more strategy.

Mr. Sowell - you never disappoint. I am continually inspired by your sound reasoning, tremendous insights, and conside writing style...I hope to be just like you when I grow up (and I'm 52 now)

Evidently the only way to defeat discrimination is to discriminate against people who don't agree with the gay agenda...Yeah - that makes a hell of a lot of sense --- NOT!
