Remember ... Christ did not come to bring Peace, but the Sword. He came to pull His people away from the material world, unto Him. That is, don't fall for this "unity" and "spirituality" rubbish being sold by today's Churches. This is the Devil telling us to come to an "Agreement" ... and to think well of ourselves for reaching that "Agreement". (note: Squinty-eyed preachers are all frauds)

God had to do that once before at the tower of Babel. We don't learn much as a people. Have to learn everything the hard way, and that usually involves loss of life.

C, so Jesus is not the prince of peace?

He came to give people life!

Religion gives people death.

Even the Old Testament says that there is a time for everything. Jesus knew when and how something was appropriate.

Agitator, peace with God and peace among those who believe. There is no other peace possible and God has not promised that. Only God Almighty can issue peace in a fallen world.

Actually, all religions in human history have killed fewer than 22 million people in 6000 years, counting both peacetime killing and wars. The secularist regimes of the 20th century killed 120-odd million people in 72 years (1917-1989), NOT COUNTING WAR-DEAD.

Only historical illiteracy says religion is even a MAJOR violent force, let alone the most violent. Especially since most of the so-called religious violence (the Spanish Inquisition, the Reformation Wars) was actually nationalist.

There will be no peace However, the Beatitudes will prevail, as do all of God's promises. Thank you God.

Thank you, true motives do count for something - and even then, people can be wrong (count on it). Thank you God for not being wrong.

Jesus did not bring "religion" to earth. We managed to mess that up ourselves.

Oh, I assure you that even with all the love you can muster, there will be a great angry reaction from some. However, love is still the answer. Jesus knew better than us when and where and how to be angry (and not sin and not stay angry).

Sports Illustrated has come to my mailbox for nearly 40 years. I hope it comes for 40 more. But I also hope whomever is assigning the stories in the future begins to think more about the readers than their political and social agendas.

Super Bowl week featured a cover of a praying Ray Lewis rising from the water, and a cover story by New York Times’ religion columnist Mark Oppenheimer on Christians in the NFL. The story was enough to cause PJMedia writer Andrew Klavan to declare he would not renew his SI subscription, and most serious Christian...
