What John writes is a dream... but a beautiful dream nonetheless! Imagine. Finally, a president decides to reduce the size and scope of the federal government. This has never happened! Even with Republicans, gov just grows and grows, sometimes even more so with Reps. Imagine the realization of Adam Smith´s dream - a laissez faire economy, bustling with creativity, commerce. Goodbye to budget deficits and calls for higher taxation. Govt would charge citizens only to perform its proper functions: law and order, justice, common defense, temporary safety net for the poorest. This will never happen, but it doesnt hurt to dream.
