Obama: Egypt's Hostage

Carl508 Wrote: Feb 02, 2011 7:39 AM
So you want Egypt's military to open fire on the crowds of millions to defend a hated dictator? When more than half the army revolts and joins the masses, then what? Bo you think Mubarak could win a civil war? Are we then supposed to send US troops in on his side? And when the entire Arab world revolts against that, then what? I'd almost like to see you views implemented just to watch them blow up in your face. Obama is actually playing the best hand the US empire has, and you guys are attacking it. Go figure.

Cash for Education Clunkers

Gee, we've already got places and states where there are no unions all all, including in the public schools. I guess all the students and workers there must be way above average, right? A reality check is in order, but that's never bothered the anti-union ideologues.
The most inexpensive solution all around is Medicare for All, HR 676 Single Payer. But since it takes insurance company profits out of the picture, no one wants to treat it seriously. So we continue with the upward transfer of wealth to insurance executives and stockholders at the expense of the rest of us.

Don't forget the ongoing billions in yearly US subsidies to Israel, military and economic. Whether it would survive if this 'state-sponsored welfare' were cut off is an interesting question. It's rather easy to be entrepreneurial with Uncle Sam's deep pockets.

Message From Arizona: Don't Tread On Me

What does Obama think he can do? The far better question is: What does Arizona think it can do? You've passed this draconian nonsense. Now let's watch you bear the burden of trying to enforce it.

Protesting the Protesters

No, not even close. He's simply a Keynesian liberal at best. And in the history of this country, it's the communists who have been put in jail for their beliefs, more than once.

Can you imagine the reaction on the right if the left started having armed militias at their rallies? Last time it happened, with the Panthers, the full force of the FBI, Cointelpro and local police moved to destroy them, including with the death squad that shot Fred Hampton in his bed.

No, I'm not buying it. The Tea Party is a proto-fascist incubator that's aiming to take down Obama by any means necessary, legal or otherwise. You may try to fool some of your readers, but not this one.

Why not call him a socialist? Easy. Because he's not one. At best, he's a neoKeynsian liberal and multipolar globalist, well within the boundaries of socialism.

Believe me, I now Obama and I'm a socialist, the real thing. He's not even close. That doesn't mean he can't get behind some decent reforms within capitalism, but he's not doing too well there either. Wall St is blocking everything we need, all along the line, for small business as well as the working class.

This Just In... Obama Is a Leftist!

Beck and Elder has you all snookered and suckered.

I'm one of the 'Marxist radicals' on Beck's charts. I'm proud of the label and spent many years in Chicago and its political life.

Take it from me. Obama is neither a Marxist nor a radical, not even close. Not a man of the left, not even a consistent progressive. He's a liberal speaking mostly to the center, a neoKeynesian trying to save capitalism from itself.

All Beck and Elder do here is show that they know very little about socialism, Marxism or the left--but they do know how to use Red meat to dupe and fire up their base.

The Decline of Newspapers

Carl508 Wrote: Jul 20, 2009 8:58 AM
Newspapers are in trouble because they can't sell enough ads. Businesses are cutting back on ad budgets, because their purchase orders are declining. It's a class crisis on the demand side, that's why a true stimulus, not one paying Wall St gambling debts, is in order.
