The argument is not that Huck knowingly released a cop killer. It is that he was so undiscerning in his clemencies, that he was figuratively playing Russian Roulette. He issued so many clemencies and commutations and pardons and paroles, without any possible time to review them with the care prosecutors and judges (the guys who are PAID to know these cases) did. It was only a matter of time before one of these guys got past him. So far, it's been two- Dumond and Clemmons. How many more are out there?
