The problem with your notion of a symbol is that the symbol is a lie.

You want to describe Hilton in the nastiest terms possible, but the fact is that he's probably endured a lifetime of abuse and bigotry from people like Prejean - loud mouth, ignorant phonies telling you how to live a life based on a book she's never read.

The real Carrie Prejean is someone who has used sex to get her way, probably since she hit puberty. NOW she's going to tell the rest of us how to live our lives while prancing around in a two-piece or going topless?

Maybe you guys need to choose your "symbols" better. My guess, is, that someone who actually lives the humble life you admire would also be too humble to dictate to anyone else...
Glenn Beck discussed Carrie Prejean's childish temper tantrum from last night's Larry King Live on his radio show this morning.  I couldn't agree with him more: her street cred is shot... and there's no way I will be buying her book. 

Unlike Jillian and Hengler, I don't think Prejean's being treated unfairly at all.  She was a private citizen, but the attacks on her continue because she's keeping herself out there--open to criticism.  And then when she is criticized, she complains how unfair or "inappropriate" people are being.  I'm with...
