never worked as a Census worker. I did in 2000, and it isn't easy or pleasent work. You do a lot of walking around, you usually don't get pleasent receptions from people when you do.

Still, I'm going to do it again this year, even though I have a full time job. (They pay 17.50 in IL)
According to the local news in Michigan, the U.S. Census Bureau is currently going door-to-door--not to count heads, but to find people to apply for jobs with the Census. 

This seems pretty strange considering Michigan has had the highest unemployment rate in the country for months--you'd think...
