Here's the thing none of you guys address. Why do illegals come here to start with? They come here because wealthy people don't want to pay Americans a fair wage and provide a safe working environment. You could end the "illegal problem" without having to arrest a single illegal or put up a single mile of fence (both of which are useless activities). Simply put a Zero Tolerance policy on hiring them, and aggressively go after employers, from the factory owner who runs a sweatshop to the rich yuppie cow who can't be bothered raising her own kids.
