It also illustrates how such a government can make outrageous demands of the enslaved citizens, such as demanding, on threat of severe consequences for failure to comply, that each district give two "tributes" (two of their teenaged children) each year to fight to the death until there is only one left. Given the outrageous actions of our modern day "progressive" movement to date, it doesn't take much of a stretch to imagine that if they (especially President Obama) thought they could get away with it, they'd would actually attempt such a thing.

You seem to miss an important message of The Hunger Games, Rich. I don't know whether or not Ms. Collins meant to do so, but throughout the3 book trilogy, and the first movie (it's rumored that the other two books will also be made into movies) she carefully lays out the dangers inherent in an overly powerful central government, and how it can enslave the people into depending on it for their very survival.
WOW!! AMAZING!! How brave of you. You really told him, didn't you?
Definitely not. People like that wouldn't know facts from a pile of dog poop.
NO, Skippy XJ doesn't get it, and never will. His parents dropped him on his head (deliberately I'll bet) one time too many when he was a baby.
UNF*CKING BELIEVABLE!!!! If I hadn't seen it for myself I might not have believed it. But then I've never put anything past Obama when it comes to making himself look good, so maybe I would have.

No, if they overturn it it will be a good start toward undoing the damage that Obama has done to this country.
Of course it was. Most of the dealerships that Obama forced to close were those owned by, or that contributed to, primarily Republicans.
I'll vouch for that, shoppin.
Well they certainly didn't start doing it in the 90's. They've been preaching this crap since at least shortly after my dad entered law school at U of M in the mid 70's. It was rampant in Ann Arbor as LW can still vouch for today since she's currently a Middle School teacher there.
