Why Are You Opposed To Ending Violence?

Ah yes, but we can all agree; Imbranato2, Donjindra, Barack Obama, Boehner, Pelosi, Reid and everyone reading this...we all agree; We won't post a sign in our yard declaring our residence is 'gun free'. Our solution for the school where our children attend is the same; None of us want our kids to be in any place that bad people know is 'gun free'. Yes, our President and his followers hate to let a crisis go to waste. They're really excited so many little kids were killed. The scale of the horror helps them silence opposition to measures that would not have prevented said horror.

Yes, we can agree even to this: I have no desire to make your home a gun free zone. But we could also agree that any assault on your home is not going to require a tank or a cruise missile. I seriously doubt it's going to take an assault rifle with a 100 round clip -- unless you're expecting a zombie horde. But regardless, there are limits to what arms a citizen may own, even in ones house. You're not stockpiling chemical weapons are you? Do you need that right too? I don't think many would argue for that right. So ultimately we can agree on some limits. The question really boils down to what that limit will be.

So if Obama doesn't like guns, how come he just voted himself a gun-totting security team for himself and his loved ones for the rest of his life? If I don't get to have a gun, how come he gets to have dozens?

WE ALL AGREE: We would gladly follow the actions (not the words) of Obama and company in protecting our children.
We'd duplicate the new onboard FAA regulations 'onboard' our schools. Some will duck and dodge their true feelings because at heart...they're kinda tickled the tragedy at Sandy Hook was so horrific.

"We would gladly follow the actions (not the words) of Obama "

I can't afford to hire armed guards 24/7 for myself and family. So, we can't follow the actions of BO.

There’s an epidemic in this country, something that has or will affect all of us in our lives. And the government needs to act to protect us from those who may do us harm. This plague is particularly felt in schools. The children must be made safe.

President Obama, bravely speaking out against this horror, said, “We have an obligation to ensure that our schools are safe for all our kids.” Amen, Mr. President. Amen.

The best course of action to protect as many of our citizens, particularly children, as possible is to place sensible restrictions on...
