Mary Beth Hicks states; "If I had participated and been asked if it’s a sin to “be gay,” I would also have said no. “Being gay” is no more sinful than being straight" ditto

Beethoven's10th: One could be a celebate homosexual and not commit the sin of homosexuality. Just as a heterosexual person can be celebate before marriage.

I strongly disagree. The very terminology "gay" implies full acceptance and promotion of that lifestyle. Otherwise, you'd say that the person is suffering from same-sex attraction.

"Gay" is a wholly political term.

Absolutely. It’s a case of trying to present yourself as the opposite of what you really are by using selected terminology. Homosexuals are miserable people. They have the highest rate of alcoholism of any demographic, so they call themselves “gay” to distract from the obvious “misery” that is the actual state of their lives.

There is not extensive hard data on alcoholism among gays and the data that does exist often links drinking among gays to the fact that gay socializing has most often been forced into bars. We do know that alcoholism is very high among native Americans, so I guess you count them as all miserable. And do you even know any gay people? Anyone that makes broad statements that all gays "are miserable people" displays the kind of ignorance that destroys their credibility. So, let me take your approach and say that all people called "Ms Kelly" are miserable people...

Wow! I was going to say that you couldn't make this stuff up, but you just did.

I’m always on the hunt for positive news, there being such consistent media focus on the bad stuff. Most days, headlines essentially read, “Handbasket full; hell in sight.”

So a recent headline caught my eye because of its positive tone: “Survey: Big drop in those who say being gay’s a sin.” According to Lifeway Research, a division of Lifeway Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention, significantly fewer Americans defined homosexual behavior as sinful in 2012 than in 2011.

As reported at

“A November 2012 survey of adults in the United States found 37 percent affirm a belief that homosexual...
