It's the Spending, Stupid!

Spending cuts are not cuts unless they happen IN THE CURRENT YEAR. Politicians have proven this over and over. They will always cancel future cuts. Republicans are trying to cancel the scheduled cuts from a year ago in exchange for cuts that occur in 10 years. Democrats don't want to cut at all (they're wrong but at least they're not hypocrites).

Judging from the responses there sure is a lot of class envy out there, even among supposed conservatives.

Legalize Insider Trading

That's fraud, not insider trading. Insider trading laws are bogus. Anytime 2 people trade something one person knows more about the item traded than the other. It should only be a crime if you lie about the item you are selling.

Coulter Defends Romney

"With a booming economy we're going to have under Romney, we will have so much money we won't know where to spend it." Romeny can't get us out of the hole we're in. You can't get economic growth without savings. But you can't get savings with zero percent interest rates. But we can't raise interest rates because the 16 trillion in debt would cause the interest payment to skyrocket.

The problem is you still have to pay US taxes on foreign income, unlike most other countries. Plus a lot of foreign banks won't take US customers because the IRS has become so threatening.

It sounds good to "stay and fight", but what if you can't find a job? I've always been employed but if I lost my job and couldn't find another, and knew I could get one in another country, it would be tough to sit here and watch my savings dwindle away. Also as a libertarian I'm worried we may lose the right to leave. We've already lost the right to take all of our stuff with us. What's next?

Greed

"Greed is a constant" Exactly. That's why it makes no sense to blame greed for so many things that are NOT constant. For example rising oil prices get blamed on greedy oil companies. But oil prices go up AND down. Are the oil companies only greedy some of the time? And then sometimes they are feeling altruistic so they lower prices?

Mitt Romney, Big-Government Man

Obama is a socialist. Romney is slightly less socialist. Gary Johnson is a capitalist. If you vote for Romney because you think his policies are better than Johnson's, then you are not a capitalist.

Voting for Mitt Romney to keep Obama out of office is a valid reason. Voting for Mitt Romney because you think he's a better candidate than Gary Johnson means you're against capitalism.
