We could save a lot of money if we restricted what could be purchased with food stamps....meat, eggs, milk, cheese, bread, flour, etc....the basics. Why are people allowed to buy lottery tickets with food stamps?

You must be White and not experienced in such matters!

Get a job and don't worry why you can't figure out how to game the system!!!

It's called the Wall-Mart Cash Conversion on the Federal Credit Card that they get refilled automatically twice a month!!!

They go to customer service and convert the entire balance on the giveaway card to cash... and do as they please!

The rules at you stated above are in place.... That is... If they cash out at the register with the Food Stamp Card.... but they never do!!!

I happen to actually Live in Central Ohio!!!

Been there... Seen that... don't be so naive!!!

It doesn't look like President Obama will be able to shed his reputation as the food stamp president any time soon. According to new data from the USDA, the number of people on food stamps has hit another all time high of 47,710,324 which is up by 600,000 from August. To be fair, this number is a bit distorted due to disaster relief from Hurricane Sandy.

A report from the Senate Budget Committee showed last week that the government is spending the cash equivalent of $168 a day...
