Aside from Stupak's personal cowardice ("Save me from what I'm voting for!") and stupidity (hoping for such help from Obama), consider the horrible precedent being set here. Stupak and Obama are both claiming that the president can, with a pen-stroke, modify any law passed by congress. If this sticks, the law-making power
of the United States will rest totally in the
Oval Office.

Think about it - congress passes a law Obama doesn't like. Obama says, "Remember how I used an executive order to re-write a law in March of '08? I'll just...

Democrats in power are able to deliver the liberal goods.

Republicans in power are not able to deliver the conservative goods.

Here's the next test - the Republicans will get a majority in at least one house of congress this year, and STILL not repeal "health care."
