If a criminal steals something and gets caught, it is a MORAL imperative to retrieve the stolen property! Letting criminals go free only encourages more crime. See Wall Street behavior for more details. It's called 'moral hazard'. Letting the criminals escape with their stuff creates a moral hazard.

No one said Communism was a good thing, but I suspect many on this site would be better off in a communist system. The lack of education, insight, racism, and hatred the commenters on this site display show me that they're going to struggle as our society becomes more education, needs more high tech workers, and becomes more diverse. They're not going to be able to operate in the future American socieity as they move down and down the economic and social ladder. They'll be better off in a communist soceiity.
