Eagle Scouts: We’re Being Bullied by Gay Rights Activists

Isn't it a sin in Christianity to lie? Stemberger and others are lying, according to this article. A den mother was dismissed by the scouts when it was discovered she was gay - not because of anything she did - solely because of her sexual orientation. The current policy says that gay people cannot be involved in scouting. Period. What the gay community wants is for the scouts to stop discriminating. Period. It is the folks that want to keep this discrimination in place, against gay youth and adults, who are obsessed with sex and politics.

Discriminate means to choose between. The BSA is a private organization and is certainly entitled to choose its members and leaders according to the laws and by-laws of the organization. There was a time when a discriminating person was to be admired as someone who gave a great deal of thought to choosing the accouterments of life, be it literature, clothing, furnishings, etc. If the BSA is discriminating, that's a good thing. Seems that it is the homosexuals who are obsessed with sex ad politics.

Hey, hate to tell you this, we ARE allowed to discriminate. It's not against the law. It is against the law when you prevent services or goods to people based on their skin color or other attribute. A smart mom discriminates when the neighborhood promiscuous girl is not selected as a babysitter for her child. A smart couple discriminates when they cross the street and avoid a group of punks coming up the street. I discriminate by refusing to let my son carpool with an alcoholic neighbor.

Everyone discriminates. Including you. You would not want me, a hetero 50 year old man, showering, supervising, sharing a tent with your 12 year old daughter. That's discrimination. And so what.

The ability to "discriminate" is what seperates us from animals. Liberals have tried to turn it into a dirty word and a negative term. One of the first things we learn as a kid is not to touch a hot stove burner. I refuse to abandon either my ability or my freedom to discriminate.

Actually, by your own admission, a den mother was dismissed, not because of her preference, but because it was specifically discovered to be her lifestyle. The fact of the matter is that homosexuality is not compatable with the scout oath and law, and therefore, those who choose the "alternative lifestyle" have no business being in scouting - particularly not in leadership positions. Having observed what homosexuals have done, after achieving positions of authority in other conservative organizations (Catholic Church), it is clear that they should not be trusted and they should not be given an inch.

A coalition of Eagle Scouts, Scoutmasters, and parents have launched a new organization vowing to keep sex and politics out of the Boy Scouts of America.

“The Boy Scouts are one of the great jewels of American culture,” said John Stemberger, an Eagle Scout and the founder of OnMyHonor.net.

Representatives from more than a dozen states gathered in Florida to announce the opposition to any attempt to allow open homosexuality in the BSA.

The BSA is expected to offer a proposal that would remove the national rule banning open homosexuality -- and replacing it with a local option. That resolution...
