The self interest of the electorate to maintain the status quo as evidenced by the consistent reelection of the pimps in congress is an electorate only in tune with their selfish interests. Reagan was a great president the greatest communicator and if he would have been a communist he probably would have gotten voted in as long as he convinced the American electorate that it was in it's self interest. Fortunately he was a conservative and helped to keep the conservative movement in the forefront of American politics. He was such a great educator and salesman that he would have sold ice to an Eskimo. Unfortunately the people that should have continued the Reagan legacy, the Gingrich congress failed miserably when they broke their contract.
