"I realize that gun control laws won't automatically take guns away from criminals, but if we ban guns, it's only a matter of time before criminals lose access to them as well. " So, you've figured out a way to disarm all governments? Get real, an armed government is a far greater danger to an unarmed populace than the criminal element. One you can lawfully combat, the other, not so much. Without arms, you are more than likely going to be a slave, or your children will be.

WHERE did this kid order that AK from?
Not the US,mail order of guns was stopped in 1968,it now has to be FFL to FFL transfers, with a background check done by the last FFL before the gun is released to the buyer.

A 14 year old kid down the highway from here ordered an AK-47 on line and had it shipped to him by Canada Post, labeled "baseball bat." The first anybody knew about it was when Mama went into his bedroom and saw it lying on the bed. Google it if you don't believe it. Gun laws don't stop people from getting guns. They just slow them down.
