Dream on. Prediction for the month: government will expand under Romney.
Star writes: "If you think we're struggling because we don't have enough government, then the Democrats are the party for you. If you think the point of government is to protect individual freedom, and the problem is it has gone way beyond that, then Republicans are the party for you." Star, do you REALLY believe this. This history of the past 50 years shows vividly that it's all a lie. The Republicans talk about small government, but government has expanded under Republicans and expanded under Democrats. Under Bush, Jr., the Republicans controlled house, senate, and whitehouse. Did they reduce the size of government? It is about time that the public woke up to the Republican lies.
No Floyd, The common enemy is statism. Mitt Romney falls firmly in the statist camp. He refuses to even consider cutting a single penny from the bloated defense budget. The thoughts of actually re-establishing civil liberties by such things as abolishing the TSA, repealing the Patriot Act, or ending the war on drugs are complete heresy to him. Even on so-called fiscal and economic matters, where the Republicans are allegedly better than the Democrats, he refuses to take any clear position. He talks about controlling the deficit, but has yet to identify a single measure he would take. We've heard such talk so many times before. There's really no reason for Paul supporters to take tweedle-R over tweedle-O.
