DG wrote: "Fed keeps inflation lower over time than otherwise would be the case." Huh!!!??? If inflation is properly defined as an increase in the money supply, the Fed is the only cause of inflation. Even if we define inflation as a general increase in price levels (a likely but not universal effect of inflation), the Fed is clearly a major cause. Take a look at pre-Fed price levels-- prices did not rise (in fact, fell somewhat) in over a century. After the founding of the Fed in 1913, price levels have risen by about 3300%.

One on One with Ron Paul

The problem is that either Obama or Gingrich/Romney/Santorum would completely destroy the country. There is no difference between the four of them on the foreign wars, police state tendencies, and out of control domestic spending that are destroying the country.

You are advocating blind obedience to party: "Heil Hitler!" Most Ron Paul supporters think for themselves. When they think, they see no difference between Romney and Obama: both are Big Government warmongers who are owned by various corrupt corporate interests. Compare their big campaign contributor lists-- almost identical. When a vote is absolutely meaningless, I'll stay home.

Time to Purge the Republican Party

This article is drivel. "The Republican Party includes high-tax deficit hawks, and it includes low-tax supply-siders. It includes high-spending compassionate conservatives, and it includes low-spending small government types. It includes pro-gay marriage libertarians and pro-traditional marriage religious voters. It includes hard-line, anti-immigration believers and open-borders free marketers. It includes Ron Paul isolationists, George W. Bush Wilsonians and everything in between." Who does Shapiro want to purge? Not clear. The entire party except Paul seem to meet Shapiro's definition of "paper Republicans," but Shapiro seems to dislike Paul, too. How would Shapiro go about purging them? Does he really advocate the Stalinist method?

Ron Paul and America's Alleged Racism

The author of this article displays an odd mix of hatred and a childlike naivity. He writes: "He mocks the idea that the primary reason for 9-11 was that people of great evil attacked a very good country" Every country that has ever existed believes it to be the "good guys" or the "chosen people." Even the citizen of 1930s and 1940s Germany held such a belief. The USA props up dictators. It has sanctioned, bombed, or invaded a long list of Islamic countries. It claims the right to send drones to assassinate those determined, without trial, to be "terrorists." I'm beginning to understand why Ron Paul inspires smear articles: he forces us to look in the mirror.

MarcusCamera, the lowest, most disgusting EVIL is people who try to run other people's lives. What right do you have to force others not use drugs or practice homosexuality? If these things are harmful, they are only harming themselves. The use of force except in self defense is what should be criminal. I think we should release all the drug non-criminals from prison and replace them with people like you.

Nothing? He has the entire planet talking about his agenda, and 20% of the GOP voters voting for it. Any of the GOP candidates will attempt to overturn ObamaCare and none of them is more likely to be successftl than any other. The diffference is that the non-Paul candidates are all owned by corporate interests, including the insurance/healthcare interests. They will, no doubt, replace ObamaCare with something even worse. Paul is the ONLY GOP candidate who will even attempt to overturn Dodd-Frank, Bush's Sarbanes-Oxley, or Nixon's EPA.

If Romney really want to win the election, he will promise to appoint Paul Secretary of State and actually adopt Paul's foreign policy. The country is sick and tired of the warmongers, including O-Bomb-A. The warmongers are bankrupting the country.

Most of humanity (including Mike Brown) "hears what it wants to hear and disregards the rest." (apologies to Simon & G). There is nothing inconsistent or anti-Israel about wishing for the USA to be Israel's friend and severely criticizing that friend. Lets face it: living conditions in the Gaza Strip are horrible. Israel's actions of blocking relief ships from bringing aid to Gaza were ill-considered. As usual, Ron Paul called a spade a spade.

Nixon: escalated the Southeast Asian war; repealed none of the Great Society programs; ended the last remains of the gold standard (no coincidence that double-digit inflation set in a few years later); attempted wage and price controls; gave us the EPA; gave us ERISA and the HMO act (two of the unrecognized underlying causes of the health care crises); gave us OSHA. He was one of the worst presidents ever, even disregarding Watergate! Can Romney be another Nixon? Maybe. He certainly has many of the right talents: Smooth-talking but seldom really saying anything of substance; switching positons to suit the audience. Is there a hint of scandal in him? Probably. Gee, I think Basile may be right, but can the country survive Nixon II?
