I made a comment similar observation to yours the other day in relation to a TH article about police depts. acquiring military surplus, and a poster quoted Sun Tsu regarding going up against a well armed foe. My point still stands.
Sorry, but beating someone with a baseball bat is much more satisfying. Guns don't involve the same level of involvement.....the easy way out. Man up, use a bat.

Exactly. Frankly, guns are for wimps. It takes some real stones to beat someone to death with a baseball bat. Gun owners are just squeamish about getting all that icky blood all over themselves.
Notice the upward trend in the above graph on labor force participation rate between 1990-2000. Hmm.
And you really believe that the small arms you (may) have stand a chance against this gear?
