I visited fivethirtyeight frequently during the 2010 midterms. Nate Silver was then projecting a massive GOP sweep of the House, and relying on much less polling data than is available during presidential elections... and of course, he got it mostly right.

Actually, Silver overestimated the amount of polling bias toward Democrats, particularly in the Senate races. Thus, those of us who/ve been frequenting his blog were surprised to learn of Jon Tester's & Heidi Heitcamp's victories in MT / ND.
