Santorum had the opportunity to withdraw graciously, congratulate Mitt Romney - now his party's presumptive nominee - and call for Republican unity in working to defeat President Barack Obama in November. Instead, Santorum blew it. His rambling 14-minute speech barely mentioned Obama or the economy. And most notably there were two words that did not cross his lips - Mitt and Romney. Graceless. Classless. Making the speech all about him, rather than his country or his party, Santorum ended up looking like the smaller man.
Agreed. Every frown you display about Mitt to other voters makes Obama smile. He wants you demoralized, petulant and staying home.
Santorum & Gingrich in big debt, Obama has the entire nation in suffocating debt, but Romney, who actually makes money, is the one mocked?
LOL, now Ryan is a RINO, Rubio is a rino, Demint is a rino, Sarah Palin will soon be a rino. Eric Bolling will be a rino. Santorum is a rino, remember he endorsed Romney and would do it again without a doubt if he wasn't running for president. Ronald Reagan was a rino. blah blah blah. There will be absolutely no real repubs/conservative in your eyes after this election because all the real patriotic Americans and conservatives with a quarter of a brain will do the right thing and vote for Romney.
Romney will restore defense cuts. Obama will disarm us. Romney will approve Keystone and off shore drilling. Obama won’t. Romney will push for school vouchers and choice. Obama killed it in D.C.. Romney will not cut Medicare to finance Obamacare. Obama is. Romney will reform Medicare by using competition. Obama won’t. Romney will stop debasing the dollar by printing more and more. Obama will print money. Romney will encourage photo id laws. Obama will veto them. Romney will appoint anti-terrorists to the Justice Department. Obama does the opposite. Romney will call Islamic terrorists, Islamic terrorists. Obama doesn’t. Romney will reduce the capital gains tax. Obama will increase it. Romney will turn America around. Obama...
Romney will end Obamacare. Obama won’t. Romney will cut spending sharply. Obama will increase it. Romney will block grant Medicaid and food stamps and stop their growth. Obama won’t. Romney will cut income taxes. Obama will raise them. Romney will stop EPA regulation of carbon dioxide. Obama will step it up. Romney will stop the NLRB from forcing unionization. Obama will continue it. Romney will do all he can to help Israel stop Iranian nukes. Obama won’t. Romney will appoint conservative judges. Obama will name radical ones Romney will crack down on Chinese currency manipulation. Obama is afraid to. Romney will starve Chavez by curtailing purchase of his oil. Obama won’t. Romney won’t bow to the Saudi monarch. Obama...
It’s the “My ball and I’m going home” scenario. If I can’t win nobody should win. I happen to agree with Jeb Bush and DeMint. It’s time to come together as a party and end the attacks that are only hurting the GOP.
This is really how Santorum and Gingrich are going to play? Everyone knows what Fehrnstrom was really referring to, but Santy thinks we're stupid enough to believe that Romney is a liberal in sheeps clothing. There's a big difference going up against Obama than vs. Sanctorum or Gingrinch. You adjust your messaging accordingly. I find this very desperate of Santorum to jump the shark like this. You'd expect it of Gingrich who failed to get even more votes than Ron Paul yesterday. All the more reason to end this ongoing primary (that is all but over) and rally behind Romney. Santorum and Gingrich are now just adding to Obama's chances. When Romney is the nominee are they just going to "wipe the slate" and endorse him?
The difference between Romney and Sanctorum: In 2008, after Super Tuesday, when Romney saw he had a slim chance of winning the nomination before the convention, he graciously bowed out and gave his full support to the eventual nominee. Santorum? He sees that he has a slim chance of winning the nomination before the convention, wants to stick it to the eventual nominee, and drag down the Republican party's chance of winning in November while at it. Thanks for nothing dutchebag.
I also saw CNN's headline - "Why Romney can't win big?" I guess winning 6/10 states (one with 70%+ and two others with 60%+ of the vote) and getting more than twice the delegates isn't winning big enough. That Romney is in all likelihood on the march toward nomination will probably soon become too apparent for any serious journalist to deny. I guess at that point we will begin to hear feverish talk about the prospects for a third party candidacy.
