From McCain-Feingold to Madison

It is well to remember that the McCain of M-F fame is none other than John McCain the Republican candidate for POTUS. It is scary that a man with such a tin-ear for the constitution should have been nominated to for high office. Shame!

An earlier post describes McCain pulling off a prank on an aircraft carrier, "setting off a tremendous explosion which killed and severely burned many, many brave American sailors." If this is true one has to ask "How does a killer of American soldiers rise to the status of War Hero?". Shouldn't he be described as War Criminal? What gives?

The Secret of Palin's Staying Power

Ms. Palin gave a dynomite acceptance speech. She proved that she can do great teleprompter. From there she began to stumble and fall. In interviews and the debates she proved herself weak on ideas, weak as an extemporaneous speaker and rather sadly disinterested and uninformed about economics, law and world affairs. She proved herself adroit at cliches ('you betcha!') and dodging questions but could not articulate a broad unified vision of governing in America. She proved herself painfully below average on the hustings. It is true she has lived her principles and deserves credit for that. Yet Mr. Chapman is correct. If Eleanor Roosevelt had taken Ms. Palin's place, and taken her words, the campaign would have gone flat...

The Healthcare bill is moving forward in the Senate. I encourage everyone to contact their senators and say NO. Faxes, voice mail, e-mails - keep the pressure on. If it passes, turn the pressure back on the house. Please, this is no time to give up. Call! Write! Scream! Shout! Get going! Now!
As the Healthcare bill moves forward down the dark halls and back alleys of the senate, be sure to thank George Bush. It was his ineptness and profligacy that handed the socialist party a 60 vote majority. Thanks comrade Bush!!
