No he certainly would not. His invitation was "come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." If we all took a little more time to visit the lonely, feed and clothe the poor, take care of the widow and fatherless, and do His works, there would be much more rest for the giver and the recipient in the restless world. My personal belief is that turning all of our cares and means over to the godless state, robs us of our desire and willingness to voluntarily help one another. It makes us cling to what remains and covet that which we do not have.
The authors of the Democratic platform have inadvertently revealed to the world the sea change that has taken place in that party we once knew.

For the first time -- and in the longest Democratic platform in history, 26,000 words -- there was not a single mention of God, the Creator, whom Thomas Jefferson himself, father of the party, proclaimed to be the author of our right to life and liberty.

The convention had approved the new platform, but when a firestorm erupted, a panicked Barack Obama hastily ordered "God" reinstated.
