You're confusing the issue. So it's OK by you if anybody can own hand grenades, cluster bombs, napalm, surface-to-air missles? There's no limit? Even our radical right Supreme Court recognizes these common-sense limitations, and for good practical reasons.

You're both wrong - the citizens were supposed to bear arms so that the country would not need to have the burden of a standing army - look it up. Also, the 2nd Amendment doesn't specify which arms you can or cannot have. But limits have been imposed (you can't have a shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile) that are reasonable, and the Supreme Court agrees with this. So the question is, what arms are reasonable to be in circulation?

Not only every gun, but every single bullet should be registered to permit investigation of each gun crime. Thousands of productive Americans are being slaughtered every year by guns, and yes, the NRA is partly to blame.

Yeah maybe it's better to let the crazies go off on an orgy of unbridled violence. Thanks for nothing, Bob.

If all bullets and casings were inscribed identifying marks of some kind, then the murders would be much more solveable, obviously. Since these marks would be inscribed by the manufacturer, no need for "cooperation" from the gangsters.

Oh. So, it's OK that those gang shootings go unsolved? Or, what is your point?

If the 2nd Amendment is about preventing tyranny, then how are you going to protect yourself against a government armed with tanks, assault helicopters, cruise missles, and jet fighters with cluster bombs?
How did the party of Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, the 13th Amendment, and keeping the Union together, turn into the party of secession and anti-immigration?
You can't own a shoulder-fired surface-to-air rocket- does that violate the 2nd Amendment? If not, then what allows you to own an AR-15?

Ms Saunders you are SO pathetic. Please stop using the phrase "enhanced interrogation" as an euphemism for torture. Torture is illegal and the United States has signed several treaties to that effect. The fact that a Republican President revived the practice is a matter of international disgrace. The United States is better than this. Does it ever occur to you that our own soldiers might be more likely to be tortured because of the actions of the Bush/Cheney Administration?
