Going Out on a Limb: Romney Beats Obama, Handily

Barone isn't "out on a limb", he's left the forest for the Land Where Wishes are Horses and Beggards Can Ride. But hey, it's all about feelings now for the GOP, right? If it feels good, it must be right.

Your projection is strong this morning.....I'd be nervous too if I were you. Feelings is a LEFTwing value.
Bruce2397 Wrote: Nov 05, 2012 7:32 AM
You're saying Barone is left wing? He's got nothing but feelings to support his view---the numbers, the statistics--the logical, rational are all with Obama.

No, Brucie. King 10 is saying that reliance on "feelings" is a universally liberal trait.

And Barone is trying to tell you that the polls to which you are desperately clinging are built upon the faulty assumption that democrats will flood the polls in a fashion reminiscent of 2008, which completely ignores the last 4 years' worth of bad governance by your hero Obama--4 years during which all but the most ardent leftists have concluded that Obama's policies are dangerous, and that Obama is not "The One".

Only a hard core Democrat partisan would make such a stupid assertion. You conveniently forgot about Barone's 30+ years of experience as a political analyst. I know you're making yourself FEEL better by accusing Barone of using feelings....because if his experience is part of the equation, then it's over for your savior.

It's long been observed that the liberal brain does not function as does the brain of a functioning, reasoning human being. Find the evidence for this in a recent political ad featuring a 26 year old woman who equates 1st time sex with voting for King Obama.

Nate Silver is an idiot if he thinks Obama has even a wisp of a chance of winning tomorrow.
Bruce2397 Wrote: Nov 05, 2012 8:26 AM
Nate Silver is a statistician, not an idiot. In 2008 he correctly called the race in 49 out of 50 states (whether for McCain or Obama), only missing Indiana, which he called for McCain but went to Obama. He also correctly predicted all 35 Senate races that year. He is very clean and transparent about his methodology, and it doesn't rely on any of Mr. Barone's feelings.
Fundamentals usually prevail in American elections. That's bad news for Barack Obama. True, Americans want to think well of their presidents, and many think it would be bad if Americans were perceived as rejecting the first black president.

But it's also true that most voters oppose Obama's major policies and consider unsatisfactory the very sluggish economic recovery -- Friday's job report showed an unemployment uptick.

Also, both national and target state polls show that independents -- voters who don't identify themselves as Democrats or Republicans -- break for Romney.

That might not matter if Democrats outnumbered Republicans by 39 to 32...
