All businesses are after the same thing. Profit. They will generally on their own initiative make sure their products are of the best quality. It's in their own interest. If they make junk, people will not buy it. The Government is necessary to insure our defense and liberty. Not to monitor all products made in America to determine in their opinion whether or not the product is okay. I grew up before expiration dates and ingredient information. We used common sense. If it smelled funny, looked funny or tasted bad we didn't buy it or eat it. I'm 93 years old now, so I guess we did okay without the Governments help.

The Rose Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl, the BCS National Championship – and in a few weeks, the Super Bowl – are all coming soon to a television near you.

But what if we all displayed the same disdainful attitudes towards the accomplished athletes on our TV screen that Washington politicians display towards accomplished business owners and executives? And why is it that so many Americans celebrate the individual achievements of people who run fast, throw far, and jump high, but look with suspicion and anger at individuals who earn money creating valuable products and services?
