Is America Going to Pot?

The road to excess leads to the palace of wisdom... for we never know what is enough until we know what is more than enough. -William Blake Don't have a conniption, Pat. Once we get the govt. out of lives & off our backs, there will be communities setting their own standards. The reason why Libertarians are so popular is because we've lost our liberty, i.e., the liberty of our unruly forebearers who fought the Revolution, the liberty of the Anti-Federalists who saw clearly the ensuing tyranny of its own regime, the liberty of the Confederacy that destroyed itself in resisting the supreme "Union." & even the liberty to smoke pot if you want. What we need Pat is a 2nd Republic, a new Constitution, a real "New Deal." Americans are rattling their chains, Pat. Can you hear their cries for justice & mercy?

It sure doesn't feel that way, PJB, to most of us retired who are on fixed incomes struggling for enough food towards the end of each month.

Is the Sun Rising in the East?

Get rid of the Dept. of Education & test scores will improve immediately.
If the West can convince Israel to give Palestine their own state, many of Israel's security problems will vanish. As for Iran, the deal is only for 6 mos. & will most likely be ultimately sabotaged by the West regardless of Iran's performance, which is expected to be well nigh perfect. To most long time observers, Jerusalem, should have been & still needs to be an open city run by an equitable distribution of interested religious sects, ancient property rights notwithstanding. The world has waited long enough for Israel to settle with its neighbors & Israel's unremitting fear mongering has exhausted its patience. The West should realize by now that it can no longer literally afford to advance its empire by military means. Pax Americana will become as toothless as the once overarching Pax Romana.

You Say You Want A Revolution

Hollywood is pretty far down the revolutionary list of what most Americans want or need. The revolution we need most is the immediate dilution of the monopolistic political power of the Dems & GOP. For over 150 yrs., they've run the show here & are totally responsible for, well, everything that govt. continues to dish out. Both parties are junk brands & these corrupted & traitorous bums need to go. If we can't get a new constitution, at least we can get rid of the regime by changing our voting laws: 1. All voting results for office holders must be ranked or proportional; 2, No party affiliation appears on the ballot; 4, "None of the above" should be a ballot choice; 3, public financing of all campaigns for office; 4, a 3 mo. campaign period before the election. If democracy itself can still be rescued at this late date, this is a way that would greatly help. Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil.

Israel and the New Munich

Israel needs to disavow its own nuclear weapons before it condemns others for wanting to maintain a regional balance. Israel can no longer withstand its own peculiarity or preferential status among nations. The majority of Americans are unwilling to further defend Israel's political ideology by starting more wars. The times for a "Jewish" state expired with the Roman Empire. Modern Israel is an anachronism at best & a complete fabrication of the Anglo-American Empire that created it & sustained it. Glick is correct: the A-A, Euro Empire is in rapid decline & Israel is on its own. For what it's worth, Islamic countries are also doomed because of their "religious" exclusivity.
The GOP needs the guts to stick this thing through to no increase of the debt limit They were boondoggled in 2011 & the demagoguery & sky falling rhetoric from Obama is the same now as it was then. If Obama won't compromise now, Obama will go down in history not for Obamacare but as the only potus that has officially & intentionally bankrupted the govt. Obama's legacy, at this point, is in his own hands.
