NORRIS, NORRIS, NORRIS, NORRIS...........etc. : )

To the point of many 'commentors'...Christie say he gets things done...by working together with the other side. There are so very few things that I would want any president of mine compromising on with the progressive left. The idea of compromise is as antiquated now as they believe our founding documents are. To heck with the 'Social Issues' and to Washington with true and uncompromised conservative government.

While I adore Mr Sowell, I must walk away ever so slightly from this assertion. For someone to say to themselves, I can't get this done so I will do nothing is not as noticable or as courageous as saying that I can't get this done, but damn it, I'm going down swinging because I know that I'm right. Obamacare is curmbling. It's true face is being revealed. Regardless of the spin or how vigorously they prop it up with more and more of our money and make it seem like it's working (see Social Security and Medicaid) there is no getting around the facts that the People hate it, and it's another noose around the neck of America. In this age, I don't believe it will survive as its aforementioned predecessors have. And to my point....who will be remembered as those who opposed it from it's conception? Who stood, when no one else would? Who fought, even when they were told they couldn't win? They did not believe that they could NOT win...their allies ALLOWED them not to win. But if they had known, from the start, I truly believe they still would have fought. And that, is profound.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should have proofed that before I posted it. Please forgive me my **** poor grammar and spelling....I did it all too quickly. : )
My first reaction was the same one I had about Columbus' most recent education 'Issues'. (they were turned down as well) I said...you need more money...well, where all the money we already giving you going? Prehaps some of this push back has a lot to do with trust. 'They' make a commercial or two and show us happy kids with new tech and pretty schools and tell us how much they're going to do for our 'schools'...yadda yadda yadda. Here, they even said, 'we'll save 200 some million dollars over the next 5 years.' So, give us a ton more money, and somehow that will make us save money. It may shake out that way, but it still rasies red flags in my book. Trust is waning in everything that any government is involved in...local, state, and especially federal. First thing, kick the feds OUT of education. They have done nothing but drive us into the dust. You can guess the rest and I haven't the gumption to go on. Have a nice day.
Schools suffer for anything that will help. I call this the 'hungry dog syndrome'. You could throw just about anything down it's throat and it will swallow it whole and beg for more. Government to the rescue...again....with yet another slab of cow pie to throw into educations gaping maw. Yes.....many of these dogs are willing pets to their beloved establishment, but despite the decades upon decades of new and better cow pies, they still believe that somewhere down the line their master will magically pull out a beautiful, fatty, tender steak. Keep salivating Professor 'Pavlovs Dog' .
Part of that sounded awful, because I used the '' again. Let's try it again: "...get the 'bleep' off our back and step the 'bleep' up off our necks." Much better.
You may drive a car, you may vote, you may go to war and die for your country, but in NY, you can't buy a pack of smokes. Wasn't it NY that fought tooth and nail against the drinking age increase because they knew what would happen to their teenage drunk driving? The buckled under the pressure of the almighty dollar extorted by the Feds and their teen DWI's skyrocketed. New age people. New masters. The left is marching on and testing the waters like never before. Yes, prohibition, but we all know how that went over. I don't want a government...federal, local or otherwise, that watches me wherever I go, feeds me what they think is right, teaches me what they think is right, and cradles me from crib to casket. Do you? We have documents that dictate what these people do for us. We need for them to do that...and otherwise, get the off our back and step the up off our necks. And unfortunately, both sides are guilty. And on one side, it's their milieu, the other an established past time. Only a chosen few seem to have the RIGHT idea. To be completely unique and original.......'Government is not the answer, it is the problem.' Okay...not my own, but right on the nose.
Oops...wrong post...sorry folks! : )

Can anyone tell me why they keep banging at doors of empty houses? These programs do NOTHING! My grandkids eat veggies and fruits like they're going out of style. They eat some junk. But for the most part, they eat great. Why? Parenting. No amount of polictical posturing or DC campaign will make a discernible dent in the issue. Outside of the beltway, only one other person has thrown more against the wall to see if it would stick....and he finally came up with the lightbulb. All of this showmanship will never garner us anything as illuminating. I'm sure they know it as well as we.
