I had to comment on the Battle Hymn of the Republic sung by the brooklyn taberbacle choir...As a former singer in choirs and chorales of some note,I wondered,as lovely as the voices were,why the need to change much of the melody and lyrics to this much beloved American hymn...If this hymn as written and sung over a hundred years and during the 9-11 horror,why was that no good enough for obama...it reminded of the hip-hopping of the National Anthem by some so called artists at the openings of sports venues....I was saddened to hear our beloved hymn so changed with modulation to please the obamas and their need to "change America"

There was a brief appearance on the dais of a Republican during President Obama's inauguration ceremony this morning.
