Congratulations! This is your last week working for the man -- at least for this year. The Tax Foundation calculates that Tax Freedom Day for 2010 is April 9, which means that by Friday, Americans will have spent nearly 100 days working just to pay their taxes. If Democrats have their way, Tax Freedom Day will keep getting later and later.

How Much Taxation Is Enough?
According to an Associated Press story that appeared today, written by Steve Ohlemacher, the bottom 47% of US households will pay no income taxes at all in 2009. They have been exempted from paying for programs that benefit everyone, such as national defense, public safety, infrastructure and education. Forty percent of households actually make a profit from the income tax, through deductions, tax credits and exemptions.
They are getting something for nothing.
