Please don't lump all education systems together. I'm an Oklahoman Republican and a 32 year educator. We absolutely do everything in our district to educate our children...I would love for you to visit my school (60% free/reduced lunch or higher). Please call me to set up a visit.

I agree with much of your article, but I don't understand the "selfish baby boomer" comment. I am absolutely not selfish, but do I, as a middle class American, expect social security that I've paid into for 40 years (and by the time I retire it will be 50 or more) to be there for me?Yes, Yes, Yes. I'm an educator in Oklahoma. Educators in Texas don't pay into social security, so they don't draw it, but their great retirement makes up the difference.
