What a victory for conservatism! I'm guessing all the major endorsements from Republican party heavyweights for Hoffman, esp. Palin, brought such a grassroots flood of funds for his campaign that GOP party bosses saw the writing on the wall and brought the gauntlet down on Scozzafava. That, or she was unprepared for the national attention generated by the race, and decided it wasn't worth the hoopla (which makes some sense, since she seems more opportunistic than patriotic, vis a vie the funneling of funds to the beachside-condo-residing "strategy consultant" family member.)
Throw every one of these corrupt, worthless donkey-holes out, and their friends with them. Revolution...!
The signs DO keep us informed (and reminded) that the govt is spending our money at breakneck speed. Maybe it'll help conservatives' cause in the end...
Franken wasn't the Demorats' (sic) 60th vote in the Senate, he was the 59th. Arlen Specter was the 60th, as he himself stated. This should be the biggest reason of all never to run "moderate" RINOs. Given the slightest opportunity, they will drop their pretentious values and sell out for political stardom under the fawning media's shining lights. Our dear Sen. Specter saw his chance and never looked back (except perhaps to give the bird to those of us who held our nose and voted for him.) He will get to enjoy this for 13 more months, after which he will find himself hoisted out of office by his turncoat ear.
I stand corrected :) Still, let the point be taken...
is an apt description for the customs agents at our airports. While I respect their positions, and the difficulty of the task they have to perform, there is no excuse for the way I have seen them treat travelers (citizens and aliens alike) at the gates. In Philadelphia, I've seen agents regard everyone with unnerving suspicion, stride the breadth of the hall shouting directions, wander about the lines with drug-sniffing dogs, and subjecting people to a humiliating search when the dogs smelled out an orange or banana. In JFK, I've been sent to secondary inspection for declaring 15 euros worth of cheese.

I am embarrassed for the way visitors to my own country are treated, let alone us citizens. I've flown into airports in Europe,...
I was just flipping through the news channels and stopped to watch Shultz on PMSNBC. I cannot understand how this network imagines it is doing anyone a service by having this bloviating schill on a prime-time program. CNN and Fox are clearly interested in performing a professional service at an hour when most people tune in. This clown belongs on daytime tv, right next to the View. There's not even an attempt at objectivity amidst "The Ed Show" content, it's pure drivel. The other day, Ed and another blowhard were together yukking it up over the tiff between the Palins and Levi Johnson like old moonbat buddies in a bar. The network clearly has no sense of shame
Sounds great, Mr. Hoffman. I hope you win, and I hope this election is a sign of what we conservatives can expect to see in next year's election
"I would say to every Republican: you have a chance to elect somebody who has signed the no tax pledge; she's endorsed by the National Rifle Association; she is opposed to cap and trade and energy taxes; she is opposed to the Obama health plan; and, she will vote against Nancy Pelosi as Speaker,”

I would say that we conservatives have a chance to elect somebody like Doug Hoffman who, unlike Ms. Dede, didn't vote for the stimulus, doesn't support card check, is pro-life, is just as pro-2nd amdt, hasn't been endorsed by ACORN, and hasn't been endorsed by the Daily Kos.

Honestly, Newt, what planet are you on? Has the Washington virus gotten to you, too? Are you looking for a kudo from the establishment for being...

I can appreciate your passion, but Rush and Sean make a very valid point when they talk about how bad an idea 3rd party is. The fact is, even if your dream comes true, and a 3rd party overtakes the GOP in support and popularity, you're still splitting the vote in the greater contest of left versus right. The Democrats will win every time, TBTG, and where will that leave all of us? It's a much better idea to work on reforming the Republican party and refining our message and appeal so that we can attract and secure a true majority (+50%) and win elections.

How long would you be willing to put up with Democrats in power, TBTG, until you'd accept this?
