First, take the most malign interpretation of whatever he says. If no malignity is apparent, then just assume he's lying through his teeth, and start from there.

You won't find many problems with the track record of that approach.

President Obama traveled all the way to China to praise the free flow of information. It's the only safe place he could do so without getting heckled.
