Islam is and always ways unremittingly aggressive, politically and religiously. Iran is the point of the spear at the moment, fostering and funding Hamas, Hezbullah, and anyone else who offers to help subvert or damage the West. By Iran, I mean the theocracy there, which is explicitly committed to bringing the 12th Imam back by causing chaos and destruction, including on its own territory.

Pretending otherwise is delusion beyond all wishful thinking. Given the capacity, Iran will immediately nuke Israel. The counter-strikes would sterilize half the country.

Worth preventing by any and all means necessary, doncha think?

Washington's partisan divide is as wide as it's ever been. Democrats and Republicans bitterly disagree on fundamental points of principle and policy. So it should not go unremarked: Last week, the Senate passed - unanimously - a bill that would impose serious sanctions on Iran. A similar bill already has passed the House by a 412 to 12 margin. What explains this sudden outburst of harmony?

Members of Congress from both parties appear to have recognized that if those who now rule Iran acquire nuclear weapons the consequences will be dire.
