If you want to see where the labor movement ends in this country, check out what is happening in Greece. Socialism works until you run out of other peoples money.

The Disemboweling of America

America's decline as the manufacturing super power in the world has nothing to do with NAFTA. Our decline is a product of inevitability.

People like Buchanon like to point to America's manufacturing prowess following World War II. What these people fail to realize is that America was the dominant manufacturer in the 50's because the rest of the industrialized world had been bombed into ashes during the great war. We were the only ones left standing to manufacture consumer products.

Then, we helped rebuild the global economy. And with that rebuilding came rivals to our manufacturing hegemony. This wasn't a bad thing, because as those economies rebuilt, it also gave the U.S. new customers to sell our products...

Newt, Sarah and a New GOP

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty should be the GOP Presidential candidate in 2012. His decision to support Hoffman means that he puts country ahead of party, and he has impeccable conservative credentials to go with his experience and eloquence.

As for Gingrich, his political aspiration to be the GOP nominee in 2012 is now gone. His politically tone deaf endorsement of Scozzafava, followed by his defense of his indefensible position ended any hope he might have had about conservatives forgetting his considerable baggage.

Finally, there may be a political tsunami about to roll ashore next Tuesday. Hoffman, Christie and McDonnell are leading in the latest polls. Do whatever you can to help each of those guys win.
The real lesson about how the pop media treated Sarah Palin is that conservatives need to fully develop their own media to rival the power of the pop media. Rush was the harbinger and Fox is a good second phase. Townhall offers one print alternative. But we have to do more.

Also, if we can get conservatives to stop paying rapt attention to what the pop journalists are saying and putting out a strong counter message we can wage a fair fight for the minds of the populace.

Why is it that Hillary Clinton can resign as Senator from New York, Janet Napoitano can resign as Governor of Arizona and Katherine Sebelius can resign as Governor of Kansas and no one call them quitters, but Sarah Palin resigns and she is political toast? (That's a rhetorical question for the readers from Rio Linde and Palm Beach). If Sarah Palin is going to use her time to rally the conservative cause on a national platform and help restore our country to it's founding principles that is far more worthy a reason to resign as Governor of Alaska than Clinton, Napoitano and Sebelius had for resigning their jobs to be Secretary of State, Homeland Security or Health and Human Services combined.
I am amazed that people are just now noticing that Barry O! uses the "Bush did it too" defense whenever anything goes wrong. Obama has done it for a year. Look back to August, when Obama was being criticized for being on vacation all month. Gibbsy's response? Bush did it too. The list goes on and on.
Remember when George Bush was killing terrorists in Iraq, and the left wing was accusing him of creating terrorists because of the invasion? Do you recall an Iraqi born, naturalized American citizen attempting to blow up an American city?

Now, though we have proof that Obama is actually creating terrorists. Faisal Shahzad was retaliating against Obama's predator drone strikes in his birth land.

The press has covered up the story for Obama even though the U.N.'s chief investigator for extra judicial executions says that Obama's program likely violates internation humanitarian laws. Can you imagine the left wing's reaction if Bush had been so accused.

Then we have the hypocrisy of Obama saying Bush's...

Barack Obama has been implicated in international crimes against humanity by the chief criminal investigator of the U.N. for his predator drone strikes in Pakistan. The strikes were called summary executions. Our President may have to stand trial at The Hague for crimes against humanity. This is not a joke.
