Oracle, .NET and Cisco certification teaches you HOW. Higher education provides the tools and familiarity with history to be able to figure out WHY. Without higher education pressing technology into the service of a totalitarian system is almost guaranteed. It is a shame that universities are doing such a poor job, because the result is that, even with a higher education, the students are not protected from being mislead by propaganda. A good education would give that protection. You wouldn't like the world that resulted if the thrust of your post were to actually be implemented.

Kenneth Howell was booted from his job at the University of Illinois for teaching Catholicism. His job at the University of Illinois, as it happens, was teaching Catholicism.

After more than two months of controversy over a firing that should have never have happened, he has been offered his job back. The turnaround underscores the scandal that continues at core institutions of our Western culture.
