The stuff that was happening under Bush/Cheney was simply disgusting. It's not about keeping us safe at all. It's about letting a whole bunch of yahoos loose with no training and very little oversight.

Bush/Cheney laid down some guidelines based on dubious legal opinions. Fine. No one who followed these dubious legal opinions will be prosecuted. What should we do about the people who went beyond the dubious guidelines? What do you do with an interrogator who inserts a florescent light bulb in another man's anus or a professional soldier who suggest he will kill his family, or rape his mother? There are CIA operatives who deserve to be prosecuted. It is critical to order in the intelligence community. One must follow the orders...

Obama's Blunder

If the left wing of the left wing of the left wing in American life doesn't control most of the Obama farmstead's best and richest acreage, it could be time for new spectacles -- since things surely look that way.

Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to go after the CIA has all the earmarks of policy designed to make left-wing hearts palpitate. What other purpose could it possibly serve? Not that of national security or common sense.
