The survey was of college teachers. Take that again with college professors and see what the numbers are; especially for tenured professors. I understand that a theoretical physicist needs to do extensive lab work to broaden our understanding of the universe and a 30 hour teaching work week is not practical. But does a Transgender Poetry Professor need to teach less than 2 classes per year?

I have often thought that we should tie gun laws to abortion laws. You want a waiting period; fine how about 9 months for a gun permit and an abortion permit. One is actually an amendment in the constitution and the other is a "found" law.

Question: Should Obama meet and then compromise with those that wish to reinstate slavery? Maybe they could compromise on a permit to own a slave. How about a 30 day waiting period to own a slave? Of course we could all agree that there should be mandatory classes before you could own a slave. Should we have limits on the types of slaves; field hands but not sex slaves, housekeepers but not anti-union workers, only 5 slaves per family unless you have a farm. There are things you just shouldn't discuss a compromise on; Slavery and the right to bear arms are probably two good ones to start with.

Good luck in for the next 4 years, but please don't take my money. The (other) people of CA have selected Brown and I do not think that he will consider all options to fix the challenges of your great State. So, I will bet that he will come to DC and ask for my money. If the money would fix the problem, I would be OK, but it is just a loan to cover the current problems without fixing them.

I think this expansion is great! Those in favor of mandating health care say that if an uncovered person goes to the hospital, we pay anyway. So we need to make everyone take part in their health care. One of the enumerated powers is for Common Defense. If someone breaks into your home and you do not have a gun, the police must come and save you. So lets mandate that everyone must buy a gun. If you decide that you are incompetent then we will inform the Registrar of Voters in your area.

Why? The better path, IMHO, is to win and then ask if they would like to join? Begging is a poor way to attract someone. I also think it is time to attack the black church leaders to think it is OK to accept 30 pieces of silver to support people that have the opposite values of the church they lead.
