Paper vs plastic-It would take 5 trucks to deliver the same amount of what 1 truck could deliver in plastic. I can not imaging how many would be required for canvas. Then there is the production costs, cutting the trees, chopping them up, converting them to paper, the amount of energy used vs plastic has to be staggering, canvas is even more. Adding all of these added costs is where they come up with the envior. impact.

Which is the most earth-friendly: paper bags, plastic bags or cloth bags?

The answer to the question depends upon whether or not you really believe in science, because as they say in certain environmental activist circles, the "science is settled"!
