One of the founding fathers stated that the purpose of the Second Amendment was to allow the citizenry to defend themselves against those who would impose tyranny upon them, INCLUDING THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT. I think those words should be permanently affixed to the stone over the entrance to each House and Senate as a reminder to the miscreants who dwell therein as to whom they actually are supposed to be working for.
I called to report the third burglary of my tool shed in Phoenix and the police dispatcher asked "Do you know who did it?" My response caused him to choke a bit. I told him that if I knew who did it, they wouldn't be getting a call reporting a burglary, they'd be getting a call about a body being found in the desert. After the dispatcher recovered his composure, he told me that the calls were recorded and I shouldn't say things like that. I told him I wasn't worried, I'd use my shotgun so there wouldn't be any ballistics to tie it to me anyway.
Center mass torso IF they are at least 15 ft away or armed with a firearm. Center mass PELVIS if they are closer than 15 ft. Even if your shots are a little high (people tend to shoot high when excited) you still cause significant damage. Hitting the Pelvis slows down a knife or club wielding attacker FASTER than a chest shot because it will take out at least one leg. It can still be lethal, but much easier to defend in court AND more effective in the short term as well. Headshots are best but harder to defend in court.
It does more than that. It costs retail and hospitality businesses a LOT of money when minimum wage goes up. You only have a percentage of sales available for payroll and when the wages go up, you have to reduce employee hours to keep that sales to wages balance. If that balance gets out of whack, you either aren't waiting on the customers, or you're losing money. Neither is conducive to staying in business. Raising prices isn't always an option and unlike what the liberals seem to think, it can actually result in a downward spiral.

Hoover Dam: Worst Investment in History

I took a tour of the dam a few years ago and a few points about it need to be made. First of all it wasn't built to generate electricity, it was built to control floods. As were a number of other dams on the Colorado river. Secondly unlike the road projects, the government LENT the money to the Six Companies corporation to build the dam and was paid back from the sale of the electricity. As the tour guide said, "the Hoover dam was completed ahead of schedule, under budget and has paid for itself. As a result, the model for its construction has never been used for any other government construction project." Yes the tour guide took a major shot at the government. LOL I think he was a retiree doing the tours for fun.

The ability to buy guns over the internet? Are you lying or simply that ill informed? Even when you find a gun that you want to purchase on the internet, unless the seller is local, you're going to have to get it transferred to you through a licensed dealer. As for ammo, exactly what stops someone from ordering a box from a dozen different suppliers? You have no clue about the reality of buying a gun in this country. Try it sometime.

The Arms Race that Won't Happen

As a former artillery officer who was trained to decipher the nuclear launch codes, it doesn't take a missile to delivery a nuclear weapon to a major city. Any given cargo truck is more than enough. The bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren't very big. We had ones that would fire from an 8 inch howitzer that were around 250 - 300 pounds and under 3 ft long. Exactly how hard would it be to smuggle one of those across the border that the DC twits refuse to secure? They have a blast almost equivalent to the one dropped on Nagasaki. With the change in US law concerning the use of Mexican trucking companies to make deliveries anywhere in the US, how hard would it be to simply ship one to New York or DC?

Chris Rock's Tweet Beyond the Pale

They also refuse to admit that the VAST majority of slaves brought to North America were captured by rival African tribes and sold into slavery, not captured by whites. They also refuse to admit that had they remained in Africa, they would have been slaves to other tribes that would've treated them far worse than the southern plantation owners who regarded them as valuable property. The Constitution called for the end of the importation of slaves within a set number of years. It also prevented the Slave states from having enough votes in Congress to prevent slavery from ever being overturned.

Yes isn't it funny that a black one percenter who has gotten where he is by producing NOTHING that contributes to the national economy complains how horrible the country is? Why do I feel that his ancestors would be amazed at how wealthy he has become for being as non productive as he has been?
BTW, just because the individual mandate was allowed to stand doesn't mean that the law won't be overturned on other grounds, and other cases are pending. The Democrats in their incredible arrogance didn't bother to put a severability clause into the law. That means that at any time that the Supreme Court rules ANY section of the law unconstitutional, they can throw out the entire thing. I recommend that everyone vote to replace ALL of the Democrats in the House and Senate. While the CBC is pretty much bullet proof because of the racist manner in which their districts are laid out to protect them from serious competition.
They need to take the Rinos to the woodshed. Whatever happens, they need to get Harry Reid out of the majority leader's position. I would recommend an expanding series of investigations into Harry's dealings with his lobbyist sons and son in law. Assign a special prosecutor and tear his life apart like they did Scooter Libby over forgetting a date. Assign a special prosecutor to investigate the finances of the Senate Finance committee members who have failed to produce a budget since the last time the Dems took control of the Senate in January 2007.
