a safe haven by simply refusing to allow the civilians to leave, you have the means to carry on an extended insurgency without worries. When conducting a guerrilla operation using IEDs or other methods, having a safe location to rest, recover and rearm is essential. Being able to secure that base of operations by just maintaining a pair of guards to keep the civilians from escaping and firing a few rounds at the enemy to keep them from advancing is the dream of any trained guerrilla leader. Our ROE give the enemy what they want: the ability to withdraw to a safe location and rest and recuperate unmolested.

The problem with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is the no one seems to be interested in fighting wars to win them anymore. If you start a war, you go into it to win it. That means you go all out. You don't worry about leaving infrastructure intact. You don't worry about collateral damage. You wipe out everything and everyone who stands in your way. When a village's elders KNOW that supporting the other side WILL result in the entire village being razed, they are a LOT less likely to support the other side. The entire "you aren't allowed to fire if civilians are in the area" rules of engagement is a recipe for disaster. It has caused the loss of more lives amongst America and her allies than anything else. When you can hold a village as
It matters not how conservative a Democrat claims to be, they are still Democrats. A vote for ANY Democrat is a vote for Harry Reid in the Senate or Nancy Pelosi in the House. If you don't agree with Dirty Harry or San Fran Nancy's radical liberal and criminal policies, don't vote for a Democrat because they will be the votes needed to put San Fran Nancy and Dirty Harry into positions of control in the House and Senate.
Ding ding ding, give that man a cigar. The man gets it right.
God I hate that idiotic response. An individual is not causing harm to anyone by owning and carrying a firearm. It is unreasonable to believe that the very presence of a firearm is as damaging as someone publishing libelous statements or shouting "fire" in a crowded theater. The laws against libel or shouting "Fire" aren't about infringing on the rights of the people to free speech. They're to discourage people from hurting others. We have those laws concerning firearms already. They're called Assault with a deadly weapon, murder, and armed robbery.

in the GIVE act if you don't believe it is possible. They are intending to create a paramilitary for domestic use that is recruited predominantly from the inner city ghettos, street gangs and juvenile detention facilities. I kid you not, they actually spelled that out in the law. Doesn't that sound like just the type of people we should have roaming the streets of the US with advanced weaponry and tactical training?

Be careful what you wish for. The larger more populace states will almost assuredly demand proportional representation and they are controlled predominantly by the corrupt left through unions and welfare checks. Do you REALLY want to allow California, NY, Illinois and NJ to control which rights remain in the bill of rights? Especially with as weak willed as the conservatives are when it comes to actually standing up and offering to knock a liberals head off for lying? No my friend, a Constitutional convention could turn this country into a liberal oligarchy in a matter of weeks with a disarmed populace and a well armed gestapo type "civilian defense force" to insure the people stay that way. Research the "civilian defense corps" as outlined
Skip the Pit bulls, they're too friendly. Get a Bull Mastiff or an American Bulldog. Nothing gets someone's attention like a 140 lb dog grabbing them buy the balls. Screw teaching them to grab the arm or leg, teach them to do a "package check" like Camille the Rottweiler in "Barb Wire". LOL
Don't forget that as gun ownership rates in the US have risen, the violent crime rate has actually FALLEN. Now when Britain has the same violent crime rate as Switzerland, they can brag. Until then, their crime rate is RISING since the gun ban, not falling. Same goes for Australia.
One of the founding fathers stated that the purpose of the Second Amendment was to allow the citizenry to defend themselves against those who would impose tyranny upon them, INCLUDING THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT. I think those words should be permanently affixed to the stone over the entrance to each House and Senate as a reminder to the miscreants who dwell therein as to whom they actually are supposed to be working for.
