While I don't think I have a problem with the drone program, the administration should publicly defend its right to do so. As this is an on-going program, care a discretion must be used, however it is important that we have checks on the power of the government. I do find it funny how many anti-water boarding zealots are now pro-drones. Seems quite contradictory to me.

Chances are, these people are democrats who were critical of water boarding when Bush was doing it. But then when their guy Obama gets in the office they give him a free pass on similar controversial tactics used in the war on terror.

For the record, I disagree with both. I think they both tarnish the already fragile reputation the United States has in some places around the world. Further, I don't believe that drones or water boarding are necessary to keep us safe.

Every country can rationalize (in their own mind) every military action they take.
Sen. Rand Paul has announced his formal intention to filibuster President Obama's nominee for CIA chief, John Brennan, if Brennan and the Obama Administration continue to refuse to answer questions about executive authority as it relates to the drone program.
